2020-2021 NvSCA Executive Board Nominations

NVSCA is a volunteer-run association that serves Nevada's school counselors. The benefits of serving on the

Executive Board include networking, learning about school counseling issues, developing strategies to advocate

for the profession, collegiality, and excellent professional and personal development.

We highly encourage all Nevada school counselors to consider being a part of the 2020 - 2021 NvSCA Executive Board.

Bethany Rian – President Elect

Chad Gregorius – Secretary

Monica Bryant – Eastern Regional Vice President

Jeremy Elsmore – Western Regional Vice President

Fawn Lewis – Rural Representative

·   President - Elect  - must reside in Western Nevada region for 2020-2021. These counties include  Carson City, Churchill, Douglas, Esmeralda, Humboldt, Lander, Lyon, Mineral, Pershing, Storey, Washoe 

·   Secretary 

·   Eastern Regional Vice-President - Eastern Region Counties: Clark, Elko, Eureka, Lincoln, Nye, White Pine

·   Western Regional Vice-President - Western Region Counties: Carson City, Churchill, Douglas, Esmeralda, Humboldt, Lander, Lyon, Mineral, Pershing, Storey, Washoe

·   Rural Representative

Nominations will be accepted through Monday, February 3, 2020 

You may nominate yourself or a fellow school counselor.

Those school counselors nominated will be sent a required application for acceptance of the nomination and a request for further information between February 3 - 17, 2020.

Candidates for each position are invited to give a two-minute speech at the NvSCA Conference in Reno, March 6-7, 2020.  If the candidate cannot attend, we will work on alternative ways for the speech to be given at the annual conference (video conferencing, stand-in to present speech, etc).

Elections will be held March 9 - 20, 2020. Official election ballots will be emailed to all NvSCA members. 

Results will be announced on March 23, 2020.  The term of office begins on June 15, 2020. 

To be considered for an NvSCA Executive Board position, candidates must be current professional or retired members of both NvSCA and the American School Counselor Association as stated in the NvSCA Bylaws. The Nominations and Elections Committee will review each individual's credentials for eligibility.
